We are well and truly into 2014 and many of you are looking to hire as you start to deliver your plans for 2014, to help you in this process I would like to share the article My universal hiring challenge to you from Greg Savage. In this article Greg poses one simple question. ‘When the time comes to make your next hire, simply ask yourself, will this person raise our average’.
By this he means the average of the things that count, energy, ethics, attitude, network, sales savvy and niceness.
I think this is a really clever way to look at your recruitment. Of course do all the things you normally would but just add this question in at the point where you are evaluating candidates with your peers and stakeholders.
