We know that recognition and praise have a direct impact on employee retention, productivity and engagement. So, here are 3 ways you can improve the way you reward your employees at year end.
Personalise it
Most employees we talk to are more impressed by a carefully chosen personalised gift rather than the actual value of the gift. This is because you are showing your employees that you care about them. You took the time to get to know them and what they are interested in.
Give a gift that keeps giving
You may want to think about giving a gift that has a long life. For example if you have an employee that’s into fitness then maybe a gym membership, a mountain bike or even some personal training. This approach extends the life of the gift. Your employee will be thinking of you and how you care about them at multiple times during the next 12 months.
Bonus holiday days
This can be really impactful. Give your employees say, 3 extra bonus holiday days to be used throughout next year. Again, that will remind them a number of times throughout the year that you actually care and value them.
